When you place an order on our website we take it as an offer to purchase goods from ourselves in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and in line with the UK distance selling regulations.

We work Monday - Friday. We do not dispatch courier items on a Saturday.

We only consider our contract binding at the point that goods have been dispatched by us and up until this time we reserve the right to cancel any order without prior notice, however we would always issue a full refund if this happened. 
 

Once we receive your instructions we aim to dispatch all orders as soon as possible and we do try to process all orders received prior to midday on a same day basis. Orders received after midday will usually be sent the following day. 

All stock on the web site is subject to being in stock, as the site is not a live ordering system we do run out at short notice from time to time. If this happens and your order is delayed, for whatever reason, we will contact you and let you know of any delays.

Description of goods 

Most of the descriptions of items offered for sale on our website are provided by the product manufacturers, as indeed are some of the images, however from time to time a manufacturer may change or improve the product slightly without notifying us - this may include the packing, ingredients, materials used, size etc.

The products supplied to you will always be the current version as supplied in the UK to us by the manufacturer or distributor, but can and do sometimes vary from the pictures displayed, which are representative only.

Should we encounter supply issues, we do substitute products like for like with another supplier so please be aware that if you order for example Campden tablets with a Youngs photo, you might receive some Better Brew Campden tablets. Substituted products will always be of the same or greater weight, volume and quality. 


Delivery

We pride ourselves on our customer commitment. We do not aim to profit from postage, most of which we charge at cost and others of which we subsidise heavily e.g. orders over £65.

All products are dispatched by courier or post. We currently use UK mail for our courier service and items can be left without a signature, providing you give us instructions, however if you choose to take this option - please note that goods are left at your own risk and we can take no responsibility for non delivery of goods where a signature has not been obtained.

We will always email you to inform you when we have processed and dispatched your order, so that you can make arrangements prior to delivery.

For this reason it is very important that you supply us with a valid email address and that you have added us to your contacts list so that our emails are not rejected by spam filters. This is especially important if we do not have your telephone number!

If no one is available, the courier will normally leave a calling card so that you can re-arrange a delivery or collect from the depot.

Parcels that can not be delivered or remain uncollected for the holding period specified by the courier (usually 5 working days) will automatically be returned to us.

If this should happen we will try and contact you to see whether you would prefer a refund or redelivery. In these instances, we think it only fair that you as a customer will be liable for any re-delivery charge at full cost (sorry we can't subsidise the delivery price in these instances). 

If your parcel appears to be damaged, you should refuse it. Please then contact us and we will sort out any issues with the courier direct and deliver you a fresh parcel.

Our courier can only take packages up to 30kg. If your total order exceeds this weight, we will either split this into two deliveries (if this is possible) or arrange an alternative method of delivery. In these instances we reserve the right to pass on the additional costs incurred.

 
Refunds, returns and cancellations.

We take customer satisfaction very seriously.
If you are not happy in any way, shape or form with your order please do not hesitate to pick up the phone and speak to us.
Our cancellation, returns and refund policy is in accordance with UK distance selling regulations.
If you decide that you have placed an order in error, or have ordered the wrong product we will be only too glad to issue a full refund, as long as the items are returned to us in their original condition and packaging, unopened, not used or worn.
Sorry but we can't refund you for the return postage or courier costs but we think you'll agree that this is only fair if it is you that has incorrectly ordered in the first place.
If you change your mind and cancel your order once goods are dispatched via courier, you should advise the courier company to 'return to sender'. In these instances and once the returned goods have been received by ourselves, we will refund you the costs of the goods less any return courier fees. As we subsidise the initial courier fees, there is every possibility that return fees will be greater than the original postage costs, as again, we think it only fair that we do not subsidise postage where the customer has changed their mind.
Similarly we cannot accept liability for loss or damage during return transit and recommend you take out adequate insurance to cover the full cost of the order in case of damage, loss or theft during transit.
Using Royal Mail, confirmation of posting is no guarantee of delivery and items should be sent via an insured "signed for" service.
We can only credit the card/bank/paypal account used to make the original payment. This is in accordance with UK anti-fraud and money laundering regulations. 
If your item is broken in transit and you find this out after opening, we will require photgraphs of both the packaging and products in order to pursue a claim against either the courier company or Royal Mail. In these instances we might, although not always, request that goods be returned to ourselves prior to replacements being issued.

Credit/Debit card chargebacks

When you contact your credit card company to report a transaction as unknown or not authorised - this is known as a "chargeback".
We supply the name "Dorset Homebrew"  to your credit card company. however, the name that will appear on your statement for any credit card transaction made with us may be altered by them to meet their own specifications. It is very important you do not contact your credit card company and report this transaction as unknown to you if the order has been delivered and signed for. If you feel there is a problem with your order please call us straight away. 

Cookies

A cookie is a small file, typically made up of letters and numbers which are downloaded onto your device (PC, laptop, mobile device) when you access a website.

They are used to store information such as login details, items you have put into your cart and your order history.

There are various types of cookies, some are known as 'session cookies' - these only last for the duration of your browser session e.g they are deleted when you log out. Examples would be your temporary cart.

Other cookies include 'persistant cookies' - these are stored on your PC in between browser sessions and are used to store details of your name and address for delivery, previous orders etc. These persistant cookies are designed to make your life slightly easier by not having to re-enter all your details each time you order but may also be used to track buying habits.

We use both forms of cookies - if you browse our website without registering, we use session cookies, when you register on our website, we will install a persistant cookie.

Registering on our website implies your understanding about cookies and consent to us installing a cookie on your device.

Should you NOT wish us to install cookies on your device, you will need to amend your computer browser settings to disable cookies.

Privacy

We value and respect your privacy and treat your personal details with as much respect as if they were our own. We will never pass on your details to third party companies unless they are directly involved in the supply and delivery of your order. We will always act in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Individual users are granted permission to download pages and store them temporarily without alteration for the purpose of viewing on a personal computer, and to print pages for the sole purpose of viewing or reading them.
The permission to download and print pages does not allow the material or photographs to be incorporated into another web site or other publication and commercial use of any material contained herein is expressly prohibited.

Should we discover unauthorised reproduction of our website photgraphs or content, we reserve the right to charge a fee upwards of £200 per image per day for continued usage.
